Vancouver, B.C. – January 17, 2014 – Highbank Resources Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX Venture: HBK). Further to our news release of December 30, 2013; Victor N. Bryant, Gary Musil and James H. Place attended the BC Stone, Sand & Gravel Association general meeting on January 16, 2014; and were introduced as new members of the Association.
Minister of Energy and Mines ("MEM") – Bill Bennett was in attendance and briefly addressed the meeting. Mr. Bennett commented on the importance of aggregates to both the energy and mines departments and all the infrastructures and construction that happen around the development of these projects, as well as most of the construction throughout the province. During the brief question period following, Mr. Bryant remarked on the lengthy time it was taking for our Notice of Work ("NoW") application through the Smithers, B.C. mines office and the unnecessary review proposed for a Mine Development Review Committee ("MDRC"). Mr. Bennett also commented that they are continuing to work towards reducing the approval and turnaround time in NoW permit applications. Upon Mr. Bennett’s departure the Company delivered his assistant a detailed summary of the NoW response from MEM received December 2, 2013; our reply and copy of all documentation returned to the MEM on December 30, 2013; and further emails and communication back and forth with MEM since; and asked him to review the information.
Highbank will continue to respond to the MEM regarding any matters requiring further clarification to obtain the NoW permit. Highbank has no intention to shirk these requirements and will employ best practices at all times to ensure full compliance with all conditions.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of
HIGHBANK RESOURCES LTD.
